Travis Rutz and Family

At the age of 7, Travis Rutz started his racing career on the asphalt in the Langley Quarter Midgets. Among his many accomplishments, he was in over 500 mains and was named Rookie of the Year.

Travis calls Skagit Raceway his home where he raced 360 and 410 Sprint cars. Amongst his many achievements, Travis never missed a main in any World of Outlaw's event he entered.

On September 27th, 2009, Tragedy struck. While racing in yet another A Main with the All Star Circuit of Champions at Terra Haute Speedway in Indianapolis, Travis was involved in a brutal 3 car accident.

Travis was taken to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis after suffering a severe, life threatening head injury. On September 30th, Travis was placed in a medically induced coma so the doctors could perform surgery to repair an artery behind his left eye.

Travis continues his recovery at home.
